I've plugged the phone in to the correct USB port but the setting remains grayed out. Update: I was trying the touch screen in Android Auto, not the Mazda interface which I now understand doesn't work ever (how annoying). Still can't get AA to work again though. Last edited: Jul 31, 2020.
The problem is Mazda’s choice to have a center-stack infotainment screen that is not touch, and can only be controlled via a knob and some buttons. I think this choice is precisely the sort of dealbreaker for many buyers that would push them to a similar car, like a Honda HR-V or a Nissan Kicks or maybe a bit bigger to a Toyota RAV4. If the Mazda CMU freezes or locks up while driving – or if for any reason you need to reset the CMU – you can reset it without turning off the ignition by pressing the following button combination and holding it for 10 seconds: BACK + MUTE + NAV. The infotainment screen will go black then display the Mazda logo as the unit finishes rebooting. You are only supposed to use a microfiber cloth with a little bit of water to clean them without affecting any anti-glare coatings or such. I avoid touching all the screens I use with the only exceptions being phones and Tablets. I still use microfiber cloths to clean them as well. Lobster70 2019 CX-5 ‱ 4 yr. ago. UPDATE: with Mazda's new Firmware updates this menu has been completely eliminated, the newest firmware update will allow you to run Google Auto and Apple CarPlay but you'll have to get a module
Now radio can't be used at all due to reset and channels won't change. Bluetooth does not operate either. All seems to be related to functions on the touchscreen. Hello, sadly sounds like an internal issue or software issue with this audio or entertainment system unit. Diagnostic testing is needed - either at a dealerships or shop near you, or
The touch screen of your Mazda CX 30 switches on and off for no reason: In this situation it is highly likely that you are the victim of a short circuit. Check the state of your fuses and connectors, if you can’t locate anything, take your motor vehicle to a motor vehicle electrician who can fix the issue. To get more tips on the Mazda CX 30
A long press/hold (like 2-3 seconds) of the volume knob will turn the screen/system off, but the backup camera will still show when you’re in reverse. If you’ve got no camera, you might want to check fuses. Sometimes the dealer prep process includes installing fuses and if the fuse wasn’t inserted completely, the related systems wouldn
If the display will not even go to any NAV screen but the radio, phone, back up camera work, then you have a problem with the NAV unit, SD card reader connection or faulty button. This if for a OEM Mazda system and make sure there are no aftermarket accessories added to the system.
May 2009 edited April 2014. I just took delivery of a new 2009 Mazda CX-9 last week, and already, I am experiencing a problem with the touch screen system. When I am moving from screen to screen, the actual touch screen "buttons" go dark so that they will not activate. This has happened on the bluetooth screen and the navigation setup screen.
If your Mazda’s screen is not working, the first thing you can try is rebooting the infotainment system. To do this, simply turn off your car and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, turn the car back on to see if the screen starts functioning properly.
Failure Date: 08/19/2022. The Mazda infotainment system has a problem that is known to the manufacturer and many vehicle owners. It is called "ghost touch" where the touch screen malfunctions and registers an input that is not actually made. The touch screen is not touched, but the infotainment system still reacts and changes inputs, adjusts
Mazda has been manufacturing the CX-5 since 2012. It’s reputedly one of the most reliable SUVs on the market, and the CX-5 is Mazda’s biggest seller in the U.S. But it doesn’t come without problems, and there are consumer complaints about various issues with every model. I have a 2016 CX-5 that has been working fine for 18 months, and today I started the car and The infotainment system didn't boot up. I had the mazda logo, then after 30 seconds the screen went black and the logo came back on. It repeats this every 30 seconds, and the only thing that works is the volume knob by the controller in the center. mw65.
